28 February

Solar wind parameters were at nominal levels until 27/1609 UTC when a
shock was observed at ACE due to the arrival of the 25 Feb CME. During
shock passage solar winds increased from around 350 km/s to a peak of
519 km/s. Total field strength values reached a maximum of 22 nT and Bz
values reached a maximum southward component of -18 nT during transient
passage. Solar wind parameters began to decrease after 27/2100 UTC as
CME influence weakened. Solar wind speeds decreased to around 420 km/s,
Bt values were steady near 8 nT, and Bz values ranged between +8 nT and
-9 nT to end the period.
